Our Story

Castor Hearts began as a quiet return to an ancient practice, castor oil therapy,  reimagined for the modern world with beauty, simplicity, and intention. What started as a deeply personal healing ritual grew into a nature-led offering for women seeking restoration, clarity, and deeper connection with themselves.

I’m Kate Anderson, a seeker, seer-witch, kitchen herbalist, wellness aficionado, star tracker, storyteller, and practising Kinesiologist on the Sunshine Coast. My journey into holistic wellness began many years ago, on a scary and confronting path toward healing after my Stage 4 endometriosis diagnosis. 

What unfolded from that moment was a six-year descent into the truth:
our modern system of medicine is upside down, backwards, and leaving us sicker than ever. But nature was waiting, quietly, powerfully  to be remembered. It was during this time that my acupuncturist recommended castor oil packs - a simple, traditional remedy that unexpectedly opened the door to everything that came after.

Castor oil therapy helped me enormously, but the traditional methods didn’t.
I disliked the DIY inventions,  pads soaked in oil wrapped in glad wrap, slippery mess everywhere. I couldn’t stand the bulky cotton wraps either. Too sensory, too wasteful, too hard to maintain.

So one day, the name “Castor Hearts” dropped into my mind like a direct transmission from the universal. It felt like a calling, not a concept. The designs, improvements, and ideas have continued to arrive, evolve, and shape themselves through me.

And truthfully, it took me a long time to understand how to bring this product to life.
I held the vision for years, and when I finally started exploring how to create it, I discovered that Eastern cultures - China, Korea, and parts of Asia - had already begun developing castor oil patches. These products were only just entering the global market and had barely reached Australia.

Rather than discouraging me, it felt like confirmation.
Almost as if the universe whispered:

“Here… the pathway has begun. Now you can bloom.”

Working directly with my manufacturer, I refined the designs, customised the materials, shaped the heart concept, and created a version aligned with my values; ritual-led, gentle, intentional, and rooted in nature.

While the general concept existed overseas, Castor Hearts is my distinct expression:
vision-led, heart-shaped, energetically guided, and crafted for a uniquely Australian audience.

My devotion now is to evolve the product, improve the manufacturing, and ultimately create a home-grown industry of castor oil patches in Australia; one built on quality, integrity, and the belief that nature-led healing should be accessible to everyone.

Castor Hearts were created as the simple, elegant solution I needed; a way to support castor oil absorption without mess, overwhelm, or ritual frustration. A tool that honours the ancient practice while fitting seamlessly into modern life.

My dream is to see Castor Hearts in every medicine cabinet in Australia.
I believe that deeply in the healing capacity of castor oil, and in the human body’s ability to restore itself when given the right support.

There is so much room for this product to grow, refine, and expand.
And I am wholeheartedly dedicated to bringing the best-quality, most thoughtful, nature-led product to my customers; now and in every future evolution of Castor Hearts.
